Florence and The Machine - Cosmic Love (PatrickReza Dubstep Remix)

Music:

Patrick Reza, Florence and the Machine, Bass, and Dubstep...can tonight really get any better?

Melodic, wobbly, and evolving has become a reoccurring tend for Patrick's remixes and he is back at it with his newest remix "Cosmic Love" by Florence and the Machine. This track hits you with a heavy wobbly bass yet it is still chill enough to lose yourself in a daydream.

Over the past year we have witnessed Patrick's skills improve dramatically with his remixes, and we want to continue to see these improvements...so head over to his Facebook Page and show some much deserved support. If you want to listen and download more of Patrick Reza's music check out his Soundclould.

Enjoy!

"I'll Be Alright" - Passion Pit

Music:

Typically, we do not like posting music that you cannot download for the justification that we want our readers to take something with them when they are not sitting at their computers. But for this post we are willing to bend our own rules.

Today the Boston based band; Passion Pit released their second track off their upcoming sophomore album Gossamer which is set to be released July 24th. A month ago the group released "Take a Walk" which I cannot keep off repeat for its catchy melody and lyrics. However, after hearing their new track "I'll Be Alright" I can assure you that this song will be on everyone's list for top 5 tracks for the summer.

"I'll Be Alright" is packed with structured clutter and energy that makes this song unique and bold. The abundance of synths had me hooked instantly.

Last summer the standout album was easily Torches by Foster The People, and I am have a good feeling that this summer the top album will be Gossmaer by Passion Pit. So enjoy what we have for you today and go out and support Passion Pit on July 24th with their album Gossamer. Enjoy!

Now that the EP; Light Me Up has turned into an album, Basic Physics had to push back the release date to June 21st. To satisfy all 15K fans following him on FaceBook he has given us a preview as to what we should expect from his upcoming album. The track "Summer Weekends" features 5 great standalone tracks by Zedd, Ne-Yo, Taio Cruz, Eva Simons, and Juventa to make one epic summer night party mix.

XV - #OccupyMusic ft. RAJA

Music:

The most deserving rapper in the game right now.

With XV's upcoming mixtape; Popular Culture on the rise (June 15th) we have been seeing a new track from Vizzy almost every other day. This track #OccupyMusic ft. Raja did not make it onto the final lineup for the mixtape, which I am happy about. (Nothing makes me more angry than downloading a new mixtape only to find out that all the tracks were previously available)

With Popular Culture being XV's 18th mixtape, I am willing to bet that this mixtape will be his best yet. The mixtape is being used to generate some noise for XV's upcoming debut album TKWTGB (The Kid With The Green Backpack). XV has said that this mixtape is all the music that could not get cleared for the his upcoming album...meaning there will be some samples that we all know and love. I know for sure I will be purchasing this album in the future because there is no other rapper out there (in my own opinion) who cares more about his fans than XV. But before then I will be blasting Popular Culture through my headphones.

So enjoy the track and stay tuned for this highly anticipated mixtape; Popular Culture.

Ghost Beach (Viceroy Remix) - "Miracle"

Music
Hopefully by now most of you have settled down into the summer routine of sitting around in pajamas all day and drinking every night by campfires. No matter what your routine consists of you better be jamming out to some summertime music...and we got some to fill your apatite.

As always Viceroy gives us another track that follows his motto of 'Summertime All The Time' with his remix of Miracle by Ghost Beach. In the past we have seen Viceroy's remixes of older songs from the early 90's and 80's; but the original Miracle by Ghost Beach is not even 30 days old. Don't mistake my comments as a negative towards Viceroy because this track is amazing and definately follows his unique summer sound. I give this  big thumbs up!

Since we have summer approaching (or already here for most people) I am sure that we will begin to see a whole lot more of Viceroy and his summertime remixes, so be sure to come back soon. Enjoy!

"High For This" (The Weekend Cover) - Ellie Goulding

Music:

Is it just me or does Ellie Goulding know how to turn a track into solid gold?
Regardless, Ellie released this synthy cover today of The Weekend's track "High For This" and I am seriously loving this cover. With The Weekend beginning to take over the contemporary R&B scene, it only makes sense that Ellie would take an already solid track and make it better with her calming vocals and chill sounding melody.
As summer approaches, I am sure we will be hearing a lot more from Ellie as she provides us with more chill music to sit by campfires and catch up with old friends. So stay tuned, but for now Enjoy!

"Primary Colors" (Mashup Mixtape) - Sex Ray Vision

Music:

Who is feeling some straight party themed mash-ups?

Sex Ray Vision just released 11 amped up tracks that will sure bring any dull night to its feet. What is even better is that you will find classic hits from the 80's 90's and 00's as well as today's top hits. It is so refreshing to hear mash-up tracks like this that step out of the comfort zone and use music that we are not used to hearing as a "mash-up". Don't let this be a turn off though because like I said...these are some songs that can get a whole party bouncing and singing together. And lets be real...any Sex Ray Vision track is bound to be amazing. I am so pumped that we got 11 tracks all at once than a track here and there.

Also....Check out Sex Ray Vision with their latest free EP "Relax" (Amazing as always)

"Boyfriend" (Mike Stud Remix) - Justin Bieber (Video)

Music:

Here we have Mike Stud's takes on Bieber's newest single "Boyfriend", and I did not think I would say this but I love this remix.

I made two mistakes when making my assumption above and they are (1) any remix would be better than Justin Beiber trying to rap and (2) how could I ever question Mike Stud's talent and ability with creating a dope track. For those of you that have seen our other posts on Mike Stud you know how great this guy really is. Mike Stud is destine for great success...I mean... he has already taken most of the college aged demograph by storm. Show him some support and "Like" his Facebook page....and then "Like" our Page!

This Is Cray (Chrizz Luvly x Carly Rae Jepsen x Kanye West x Jessie J) - Basic Physics

Music:

One of my favorite mash-up artists this year easily is Basic Physics, and we were just hit with another crazy mash-up called "This Is Cray".....and this shit really is cray. Artists featured on this track span from Kanye West, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jessie J, and Chrizz Luvly, to create a banger for all your upcoming parties. Basic Physics adds some hard hitting dubstep during parts of this track that sets it apart from other supper mash-up mixes. I am absolutely digging this mix by Basic Physics considering the fact that it is stepping out of the comfort zone.

If you missed our post on Basic Physics' mash-up album "Lift Off" then check it out here and grab the free download.

Tupac Preforms at Coachella in the Form of A Hologram

Music: Tech: Life:

So I am sure by now all of you have seen the incredible performance by Tupac (well his hologram) this past weekend at Coachella. But wait...hasn't Tupac been dead for 16 years now??? For those of you that have not seen the video... head to the bottom of this post and watch the video before we get into this discussion.

Ok, I am expecting that all of our first reactions to this performance is..."WOW this is amazing"...but after thinking about it for a while, I started to think just the opposite. Yes the technology is crazy and maybe one day we will be going to concerts where the actual performer could be on the other side of the country performing multiple concerts that the same moment though this technology. (But that is not my point)

But I ask you to view this video and performance through an ethical standpoint. Tupac obviously has been dead for 15+ years now and he had absolutely no say whether or not Coachella had the privilege to bring him back from the dead. How is it ethically right to make a profit off of a dead man?

Also the crowd acted as if Tupac did reselect from the dead, but this was by no means Tupac at all. It is impossible that there was ever a recording of Tupac saying "What the fuck is up Coachella"... simply because the first Coachella performance happened 3 years after his death.

Now we come to the main issue that makes me angry that this performance ever happened. Since the music industry thought this was alright to bring Tupac "back from the dead" and create lines that he never said once in his life...we can begin to see more performances from dead performers. And the music industry loves this idea because they will make a killing off of these dead performers. These artists already have brand recognition so it would not be hard at all to fill major concert venues. And the total cost for these concerts will be minimal compared to what it costs for an actual live performance.

These music industry executives make me furious with this approach to make more money...

So I ask you all.....is bringing these artist back in the form of a hologram really what people want to see? Even if you want to see these performances...do you see them to be ethically right?

With the release of their debut album Generation X, The Dean's List is starting to make some serious noise in the mainstream scene. Sonny Shotz (The rapper in this talented group) has great sound and flow that you cannot hate their music. (but of course haters gonna hate). One thing that you should always expect from The Dean's List is that you will always get solid jams no matter what the situation.
